Renault Trucks OptiTrack for steep grounds
Already available in 6x4 and 4X2 versions on the Renault Trucks C model, the OptiTrack technology is now adapted to heavy trucks in 8x4 versions (with a DTI 11 and 13 engines) and 8x2*6 (with a DTI 11 engine).
Front axles are equipped with this hydraulic technology which offers a better motor function when it has to cross steep grounds. OptiTrack allows the vehicle to benefit from a temporary extra mobility.
A Technology already put in place by many manufacturers
This technology, developed by Poclain Hydraulics known as Addidrive, is very prized by many constructors. It was renamed Hydrodrive by MAN since 2005 and Optitrack by Renault Trucks since 2009. Mercedez Benz decided to name this system HDA.
A Simply and Efficient Use
Thanks to this technology, the motor function of the vehicle is optimized, even at it starts. The system will automatically be disconnected when the construction truck reaches 25km/h – allowing a usual driving session. With a simple touch on the OptiTrack button the driver can engage the system or not. Furthermore, this technology is associated with the Optidriver gear box. Renault Trucks adds that OptiTrack is available with the Voith hydraulic retarder.
Thanks to OptiTrack, the Renault Trucks C can get out of any difficult situations while keeping its payload.
Between Comfort and Security
This system saves fuel because it is perfectly adapted to the road on which the truck drives. In the same vein, the driver’s comfort is optimized and its work easier. Renault Trucks decreased the system weight up to 90 kg in comparison with the Euro 5 range – it allows the C models to have a great payload. The OptiTrack system is very simple to use and totally secures the Renault Trucks construction trucks on difficult grounds.
