Renault Trucks T for the Formula One Team
In partnership with each other for more than 15 years, Renault Sport and Renault Truck renew their cooperation in 2016 on the occasion of the new Formula 1 season. Indeed, ten Renault Trucks T equipped with a Euro 6 DTI 13 520-HP motor will transport the single-seater cars and motorhomes on the different European Grand Prix tracks. These vehicles are also equipped with a Fuel Eco pack.

The T 520 were especially decorated for the Formula 1 season, they will fly the new colors of the Renault Sport Formula Team by displaying a golden trailer. They will appear for the first time on the occasion of the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona on May, 15th 2016. For the team, the Renaults Trucks T 520 will carry all the materials (single-seater cars, spare parts and various motorhomes) necessary to oversee the smooth running of the event.
An ideal trucks to carry Formula 1 cars
The Renault Sport Formula team chose the T 520 trucks for their quality and accordance with the Euro-6-standard. Moreover, the significant safety improvements compared to the previous Magnum models confirmed the team’s choice.
The Renault Trucks’s T 520 4x2 tractor units are equipped with the Fuel Eco pack and are renowned for their low energy consumption.
This pack is composed of a few smart technologies which lead to energy saving.
Inhibited power mode, eco cruise control with the Optiroll freewheel mode are some of the many options offered in the Fuel Eco Pack. Besides, the disengageable air compressor, the variable flow steering pump and the automatic engine allow the Renault Trucks tractor unit to make energy saving.
All these technologies help the tractor to reduce fuel consumption by 4 %.
The manufacturer explains that the materials needed by other Renaults Sport competitions – such as the Formula E series – will be carried by Renault Trucks T lorries.
