    Iveco and Armasuisse : 400 new IVECO trucks to enhance the Swiss Army fleet

    Iveco Defence Vehicles' (Iveco DV) and CNH Industrial will deliver 400 trucks to the Swiss Army between 2017 and 2021. The military trucks will be equipped with the latest Euro 6 engines to meet the power and safety requirements of the army.

    A longstanding collaboration

    Since the 90s, Iveco-Defence Vehicles and Swiss Defence Procurement Agency (Armasuisse) work tightly to renew and enhance the army's fleet. In the last five years, Iveco has already delivered more than 1200 trucks to the Swiss army. Military trucks, most of which have proved efficient during operations. The first two deliveries took place between 1996 and 2006. The next delivery should take place during 2017 and 2021 for 400 new Euro 6 trucks. Once again, the company ensures its place as a leading supplier in the equipment goods industry.

    Euro 6 trucks specially made for the Swiss army

    CNH Industrial and the Iveco-Defence Vehicles division, just signed the contract with Armasuisse. These military trucks are tailor made to be adapted to military needs. Indeed, according to Vincenzo Giannelli, CEO of Iveco Defence vehicles, this contract will increase its innovation and research about their new truck generation. Indeed, these new trucks will have a wide range of equipments, such as protected cabs, Euro 6 engines for unique fuel as well as high level technologies. That much elements will be essential to ensure the safety of the new Swiss army's fleet.

    This new fleet will have different kind of vehicles, like for the previous delivery.  For this new delivery, the Swiss army will have new 4x2, 4x4, 6x2, 6x6, 8x6 and 8x8, as well as the new Stralis ans Trakker ranges. Finally, some of these trucks will have protected cabs to ensure the driver's safety.
