Scania launches an electric truck roadshow across Europe

In August, Scania kicked off a European tour designed to showcase its electric vehicles, running until December 5, 2025. The purpose of this roadshow is to demonstrate the efficiency of electric trucks in real-world conditions and encourage discussions around this topic. The six heavy-duty trucks will stop in 14 cities across different countries.

    Fourteen European stopover cities

For this event, Scania assembled a fleet of six electric trucks. These models were chosen for their ability to meet various needs (tippers, hydraulic arms, tractors, waste collection, urban deliveries, etc.). The convoy set off from Södertälje (Sweden) and arrived in Copenhagen (Denmark) at the end of the first stage of a 20,000 km journey, due to conclude by the end of the year. Along the way, the trucks’ batteries will be recharged multiple times at pre-selected infrastructures.

    Discussing the challenges of electrification

At the end of each stage, the vehicles will be gathered and displayed. Visitors will also have the chance to test them and appreciate their qualities. Scania’s teams will be present to answer questions and highlight the benefits of electrification in the transport sector. These moments will also allow discussions on practical topics such as truck financing, charging strategies, and battery capacity. Drawing on its extensive experience in electric transport, the manufacturer will show, for example, that striving for maximum battery performance is unnecessary and that it is better to adjust capacity according to the vehicle’s actual mileage.
