Actros Mercedes: a pioneer range

Since its launch 20 years ago, 1 million Actros Mercedes units have been sold. In Europe, the Actros range is a true reference in the haulage industry. In December 1996, the Actros model is the first truck which includes electronics in every part. Indeed, engine management, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and gear box were electronically assisted. At this time, the German manufacturer had also equipped its trucks with disk brakes and an EBS system.

Actros Mercedes exclusive model

This brand new model will be equipped with chrome slides and wheels nuts signed by the brand star symbol. Esthetically, the Actros series designed to celebrate the truck 20th birthday aims to be modern and elegant.

The trucks are equipped with bi-xenon projectors and the different spare parts can be customized according to the customer’s willing. This was thought in order to highlight the uniqueness of these new models.

Inside the cabin, the threshold interior is lighted and signed by the « birthday » signature to bring the 20th birthday of the range out. Inside lighting is composed of 138 LED which are directly included in a panoramic sun roof. The special edition will also offer restored security equipment with essentially the brand new version of the Active Brake Assist 3 system and airbag models.

These special 200 tractors are offered in 4x2 version. This series will be commercially available in September with a GigaSpace or BigSpace cab, in every power.

Further innovations for the IAA exhibition

On this special occasion, Mercedes announced the upgrading of its OM470 high performance engine – it will be able to reach 456 HP. It will be equipped with its new X-PULSE amplified common-rail fuel injection system. Concerning the security, the German constructor will also offer a ABS system, allowing the pedestrian detection and the assistance for direction changes.
