The Eurocargo from Iveco awarded "Truck of the Year" 2016

The new version of the Eurocargo Euro 6 from the Italian make got 101 votes, more than the Renault Trucks C and K, the  Ford Cargo Construction is awarded the third place. The president of the jury M. Gianenrico Griffini syas : «  Iveco has delivered a new medium duty truck that, once again, raises the bar in a highly-competitive segment in which Eurocargo has set the market benchmark in the last 25 years »

For a truck to be awarded this title, it must be put on the market in the 12 months before the election and having contributed to an important improvement of the road transport. This year, the jury was interested in several criteria such as technical innovation, transport improvement, comfort, safety, environmental footprint and the total cost of purchase of the vehicle.

Eurocargo awarded for its performances

The Eurocargo range from Iveco offers two new engines of four and six cylinders of 160 and 190 HP. Before choosing the winner, 25 journalists in the jury had the possibility to try the trucks. Thus, they could appreciate the new performances of these engines equipped with the « SCR only » technology.

This engine increase the Iveco truck power by 13% in comparison to the previous range. The Eurocargo was also rewarded for its flexibility.

A functional design by Iveco

The cab's design of the Iveco Eurocargo made a difference. Indeed, the cab looks like the cab of the Daily and gives an attractive image of the truck. The ergonomics has a ecologic and economic aspect since it offers a better air penetration, and considerably reduce the fuel consumption.

A true adjustable and interactive desk has been installed in the cab. The jury has been attentive to the pratical and functional character of the cab since the central storage is adjustable.

After the Renault Trucks T, awarded Truck of the Year 2015,  the new Iveco Eurocargo has a bright future ahead of it.
