Renault Trucks continues its partnership with the World Food Programme
Since 2012, the French truck manufacturer partners up with the WFP in order to send food to in several Central and West Africa countries.
Renault Trucks wants to bring solutions and the needed knowledge to maintain trucks in Africa. As Julie Maconne explains, in charge of the sponsoring at Renault Trucks « In the most disadvantaged parts of the world, trucks are the essential link to transport food and save lives ».
Renault Trucks training the African population
In the next 3 years, Renault Trucks voluntary employees will train mechanics in Central and West Africa. Eleven training sessions are scheduled in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in Ghana, in Central African Republic, in Sierra Leone, in Liberia, in Chad and in Uganda. The training sessions will include repairs in extreme conditions for trucks transporting food as well as fleet management trainings. In total, the programme is set to train 150 mechanics, workshop managers and fleet managers from now to 2017.
