Focus on the HI-SCR technology on Iveco trucks
Iveco, the Italian manufacturer, is the first to offer the HI-SRC technology on all of their heavy vehicles (bus, coach, trucks). This system in the engine offers several advantages regarding fuel consumption, safety and profitability. The HI-SCR system with the Euro VI norm stage A is a « SCR Only » technology.
HI-SCR is available on all Iveco's heavy ranges : on the Stralis, the Trakker and the Eurocargo as well as the bus ranges such as the Urbanway, the Crealis or the Crossway.
Important energy savings
Since the introduction of the HI-SCR technology in the engines of Iveco's heavy ranges, important energy savings have been observed. With this system there is no fuel post-injection, or energy loss to cool exhaust gases. Besides, this technology saves fuel up to 4.3%. Moreover, the HI-SCR system gives the Iveco trucks a larger maintenance interval. Indeed, the oil change is to be done every 150 000 km and the particle filter can be changed every 600 000 km.
Reinforced safety with the HI-SCR technology
Safety is reinforced for trucks in dangerous environments with high temperatures. With this system, the Iveco trucks are adapted for hazardous substances transport.
A better productivity on journeys
The trucks useful load has not been decreased with this technology since it is compact and light. The engines equipped with the HI-SCR system ensures a low emission of fine particles and only uses pure air, there is no hot exhaust gas recirculation system.
Finally, the Italian manufacturer also explains that this technology is adapted for risk environments, such as refinery, chemical plants, airport zones, tunnels or bus stations.
