SITL Europe 2016 : several innovations this year
The 2016 edition of the SITL (Semaine Internationale du Transport et de la Logistique), takes place from March 22nd to 25th in Paris Nord Villepinte. The exhibition brings together all the products and innovations of freight transport, freight forwarding and logistics chain. During this week, conferences are organised to talk about subjects regarding transport and logistics as well as a new contest, the Start-up contest, will take place at the end of the exhibition.
In 2016, around a hundreds conferences will take place with professionnals from the transport and logictics industries. The conferences will be about sustainable development, hazardous material transport and the global industry evolution.
Sustainable development in the transport-logistics industry
The exhibition starts its conferences on March 22nd, 2016, with supply chain actors involved in sustainable development. The conference called Green Logistics will talk about the program that will reduce greenhouse gases in transport especially the charter « Fret 21 » planned for the COP21.
Hazardous material transport at the heart of the exhibition
For the first time, the hazardous material transport has the honour. Through a conference program and workshops called Dangerous Goods Logistics by SITL, specialists from the hazardous material transport industry will talk about current issues.
Hazardous material transport is ruled by regulations updated every two years. 15% of all worldwide exchanges of freight are of hazardous materials (hydrocarbons, chemical and gaseous freights, perfums, pharmaceutical products, household cleaners and also certain wastes).
With these conferences, SITL wants to answer questions and give the latest information on an industry that is constantly evolving.
A first for conferences about Africa
For the first time, the SITL Europe, helps professionals from the transport and logistics industry to think about the logistics stakes on the African continent. Two conferences will discuss the subject and will try to answer questions such as : How to reach and satisfy African consumers ? and How to help in the equipment project in Africa ?
Start-up Contest : a brand new contest
The new Start-up Contest organised by the SITL is set to reward the most innovative start-up in the transport and logistics industry. The Start-up that want to take part in the contest can submit an application until February 26th. A first selection of 8 candidates is set for the beginning of March. Then, on March 25th, 2016, competitors will present their project in 5 minutes in front of the jury. The Start-up Contest winner will have a free 9m2 booth at the SITL 2017.
