Volkswagen will soon own all Scania

On June 5th,Volkswagen AG acquired 90% shares of Swedish manufacturer Scania, soon owning 100% of their share price on the stock market. There won't be any Scania shares at the Stockholm stock exchange.

On June 5th,Volkswagen AG acquired 90% shares of Swedish manufacturer Scania, soon owning 100% of their share price on the stock market.  There won't be any Scania shares at the Stockholm stock exchange.

The Scania shareholders must sell their shares

Now, Volkswagen's share to Scania's capital has reached 98,2% and the comapny owns 99,02% of voting rights.

Since this share exceeds 90%, this means that the last shares must be pulled out of the Stockholm stock exchange.cela signifie que les dernières actions  doivent être retirées de la cotation de la bourse de Stockholm.
The shareholders have until the end of the month to sell their shares to the German group.

A worldwide alliance : Volkswagen, MAN, Scania

Martin Winterkorn, chairman of the board of management at Volkswagen said : « This is good news for the group, we can take the logical next step : strengthen the operational integration between Scania, MAN and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. »  For Scania, the ambition is the same. Martin Lundstedt, Scania's president and CEO said « This is the opportunity to accelerate cooperation projects with VW and MAN and to create a successfull worldwide alliance in commercial vehicles, with a strong identity for each make ».

The goal of the two groups is to compete with Daimler Trucks and Volvo AB.
