Iveco - Truck IvecoIveco (short for "Industrial Vehicle Corporation") is an Italian truck manufacturer. The company has been owned by the FIAT Industrial group since its creation in 1975. Five truck manufacturers have joined forces to create Iveco: Fiat VI, Lancia Veicoli Speciali, Officine Meccaniche, Magirus-Deutz and Unic.
Later, the Italian truck brand bought other heavy truck manufacturers: Ford UK Trucks in 1986, International Trucks Australia Ltd in 1989, then ENASA and Seddon Atkinson in 1990.
In terms of sales in Europe, Iveco trucks are second in the market. Iveco is also known as the world's leading manufacturer of diesel engines.
Iveco offers a wide choice of trucks in the medium and heavy ranges, in particular with the Euro models: EuroCargo (truck of the year 1992), EuroTech (truck of the year 1993) and EuroTrakker. The Iveco Stralis is also one of the successes of the Italian brand. The Iveco Stralis Hi-Way won the Truck of the Year 2013 award.
