Scania YETD 2012: the registration is open!

The Scania Young European Truck Driver Competition 2012 is looking for candiates. In order to win, the drivers will have to prove their ability to drive economically and operate safely and efficiently at all times. The winner will be awarded a brand new Scania R-series truck.
From manoeuvring to theory tests: the YETD challenges
Scania believes that the driver is the decisive factor for both economy and road safety. In the course of the competition, the key selection criteria for drivers include their maneuvering speed, fuel consumption, application of safety procedures.
The competition for truck drivers only
The participant of the YETD 2012 should be no older than 35 years, a holder of a category C+E driving licence, and a professional truck driver. For more information about the terms and conditions of the YETD regulations please visit the Scania corporate website.
The various stages of the YETD 2012
The competition begins by the selection procedures organised in every participating country: 40 candidates are selected to participate in the qualifying stage, and only 10 truck drivers pit their skills against one another in the national final. The French winner will compete against the finallists from other 24 countries. In 2011, it was Frederic Duvay, who had the honour of defending the French colours.
The young truck drivers excited by the YETD 2011 edition
In 2011, nearly 10,000 young truck drivers, including 1,200 participants, confronted one another for the title of the best young European driver. The prestigious title, as well as a brand new Scania truck were awarded to the Swedish contestant, a 25-year-old Andreas Söderström!
