 The driveline



Our driveline is based on a simple principle: everything acts in concert. This means losses due to friction and component wear are kept to a minimum when the engine power is being transmitted to the road.

Engine line-up
Everything you could possibly wish for in an engine: all of our 4 and 6-cylinder in-line engines with outputs between 110 and 205 kW (150 and 279 hp) are designed to give you a long service life, low fuel consumption and long maintenance intervals.

Gearboxes
The four gearboxes available for the Atego are designed to ensure maximum economy, low friction and low wear.

Axles
There's a choice of single reduction hypoid rear axles available for the Atego, thus ensuring highly efficient power transmission.

The Chassis

Good handling is perhaps dependent on one thing above all: perfectly matched and harmonised components. Featuring state-of-the-art technology, the Atego is a true front-runner in this respect.

Frame If you get in and out of the cab 30 to 40 times a day, you will soon appreciate the benefits of the frame with its lowered front section.
