 Recently, the number of hackers during the online sales of vehicles has increased a lot.
Here are the most common examples:
Some rules will enable you to avoid such embezzlements:
 As a buyer, do never go further with a dealer who asks you to make suspicious payment: for instance cash advance, or payments abroad.
 As a seller, watch out that you get totally paid before you deliver the vehicle. Be careful with foreign cheques: your bank could first accept them and then refuse them a few weeks later if the buyer doesn’t honour his payment.
Payments by bank cheques or by cash are of course the safer (see general conditions below)
 Don’t pay in anticipation: watch out, it could be fake.

Cheques
Even as a seller, make sure you avoid hackers, when you sell, you can be victim of cheating by buyers with no money on their account.
Refuse cheques!
If as a seller you receive a cheque with more on it than what you asked for, for your truck, do never pay the difference back because it could be false or stolen.
Our advice: check your buyer’s bank a few hours before you actually sell your vehicle. Do never sell to a private owner during the week-end or bank holidays.
Do never transfer money abroad in anticipation!
This rule can apply to any money transfer (for instance with Western Union, MoneyGram, Escrow), as well as to pay wire transfer. In both cases, somebody could appropriate your money by using false, letting you with no solutions to get your money back.
Do never transfer money with Western Union!
Money transfer is quick and easy way to send money to someone that you know. But you have to know that it is not possible to follow up this kind of payment.Therefore we invite you not to use these means towards unknown customers or suppliers.
Remain vigilant when a seller only tolerates money transfer to be paid. Most of the serious dealer will accept more than one way to pay. Be all the more careful when a dealer invites you to book a vehicle with the name of a friend or relative, because you will therefore not be safe from any fraudulent users.
Example:
As a dealer, you place an ad on our website, and a buyer gets in contact with you. You both agree with a final price (here 17 000€). The problem is that the buyer is located in Senegal, and has no other way to pay than with Western Union, which charges 1 000€ for any transaction. He’ll ask you to participate to this additional costs by sending him half of the fee (500€).
Once the money is boxed, you’ll have no news of the buyer and no possible resort.
What to do?
If you still mean to sell your vehicle, then choose to reduce the price up to the amount of the additional fee, rather than to send money in anticipation, without any guarantees.
